Genetic testing involves the analysis of your genes, which carry the instructions embedded in your DNA. Scientists analyze your genes during genetic testing to find small variations that could be connected to health conditions. Genetic testing is often performed to confirm suspected disease or to understand why certain health conditions are present in a family.
Helix offers a broad menu of genomic tests including hereditary cancer screening, cardiovascular genetics, pharmacogenomics, carrier screening, and proactive health screening panels — all powered by our Exome+ assay.
Most insurance plans cover genetic testing in the US and Helix is in-network with national and regional US health insurance plans. When your test is complete, Helix submits a claim to your insurance and once processed by your insurance, sends you a statement if you owe anything. If you have any questions regarding eligibility, insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) or your Helix bill, our Billing team is here to help at 855-699-1933.
The time it takes to receive your results may vary. From when your sample reaches the Helix lab, it will typically take 2 to 4 weeks to receive your results if this is your first test with Helix. If you have been sequenced before, your results can typically be returned much faster.
