Research Insights
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis impacts millions of people in the US. Conventional treatments are currently limited to reducing inflammation, however personalized treatment can offer options to treat the disease directly. Helix scientists recently presented an analysis at the ASHG conference in 2024 on the genetics of Crohn’s disease, and in particular the NOD2 gene where mutations in the gene have been associated with Crohn’s disease and other conditions.
