When you’re ready to Get Started, you’ll be prompted to create a Helix account which you’ll later use to access your results. (You may want to record your login information somewhere safe to ensure that you can access your results in the future). You’ll also be asked to register your kit—this helps us know its your sample when it arrives at our lab. The last step is to fill the saliva collection tube and ship it back to us in the provided packaging.

What to Expect
How long will this process take? Not long at all. After you've submitted you sample, we'll sequence your DNA in our state-of-the-art lab located in San Diego, California. Shortly after, your DNA sequence will be analyzed and your results will follow. Here's what to expect:
Typically it only takes about 15 minutes to create an account, register your kit, and submit your saliva sample.
Getting your results
After we receive your sample, it usually takes 4-8 weeks to sequence your DNA, analyze it, and compile your MyTraits and MyTraits Ancestry results.
It may take longer to receive your health results; we take this very seriously and want to ensure that the analysis is not rushed. For this reason, MyHealth Step One results will likely not be ready until late November—this ensures that we have ample time to analyze your results and prepare supportive resources for you, should you need them.
